let's go outback tonight...

the bus.

we had campfires every night...

it was incredibly green - the greenest it's been for the past 15-20 years...

and the sky was amazing...






using kangaroo meat as bait for yabbie (crayfish) fishing...

going mudding in the Darling River...


and we saw wild kangaroos...
and dead kangaroos...

our afternoon tea stop was in the Blue Mountains - you can see the Three Sisters in the lower left corner...

they have the craziest right-hand turns here (remember, they drive on the opposite side of the street). in order to turn right, they have to get into the far left lane and wait for the light to turn red before crossing all the lanes. they're called 'hook turns'...

we saw wild koalas!...fun fact: they sleep for 20 hours of the day. the other four are spent getting high off of the eucalyptus leaves. it's not uncommon to see the little guys just fall out of the tree. what a life, eh...
